Friday Night Art

I finally had time last night to enjoy some art time. This altered board book was covered in scrapbook paper and was painted by scraping acrylic on with a credit card. It was muted a bit with a light sanding. The Serenity stamp is by Artistic Outpost. The orange trim (rubbed with Distress Ink), gold foil trim, buttons, watch glass and ribbons are all from Rock Candy Studios. The edges were rubbed with Distress ink also. Can you tell I'm ready for fall?

This piece is a 5 x 5 book page. The heavy cardstock was painted with metallic blue acrylic and a piece of scrapbook paper was added. The rubberstamp image and sentiment are from Oxford Impressions. Black trim, window, foil bird and crown are all from Rock Candy Studios. I really like symbolism and words so I hope some of my thoughts come through here. Ever hear the saying..."When God closes a door, he opens a window". This came to mind with this piece. Note the small foot stepping out the window. Have you ever been at that place where it takes all the courage you have to take one tiny step?
Later..
